Gonubie Primary – Intermediate & Senior Phase
The Intermediate / Senior Phase at Gonubie Primary School consists of four classes per grade with approximately 28 pupils in each class. Each class is equipped with an interactive white board and has internet connectivity thereby enabling the teachers to present creative, interesting and high quality lessons.
We follow the CAPS syllabus and pride ourselves on our high academic standards and excellent results. Our fully qualified, professional teachers are committed to their teaching and also attend seminars and workshops in order to keep up with the latest trends in the education world.
Our pupils participate in many external Olympiads e.g. AMESA Maths and SACEE activities like public speaking, general knowledge and spelling bees. We’re always proud of the superb results we obtain in these competitions.
Our teacher interns assist in the classes by giving individual attention to smaller groups. Our Remedial department caters for those pupils who experience barriers to learning and aims to provide a programme that meets their needs and abilities.
Our pupils’ achievements are recognized in the form of academic badges, PAC certificates and classroom awards.
Outdoor Education and excursions enrich our teaching and add value to our holistic approach to our pupils’ education.
